KCI Founder and President
Jean-Pierre (JP) Eskander
As an experienced builder of mission-driven teams and executing groundbreaking transformation programs, JP has the privilege of working with some of the best minds across healthcare and technology sectors to build industry-leading innovations and system sustainability strategies. Through the last 25 years, he has played roles across many organizations as a partner to develop solutions and capabilities across a wide range of disruptive challenges. These experiences allowed him to collaborate with leaders with diverse backgrounds and expertise to create sustainable, innovative solutions to complex problems. His primary focus is to harness technology, global advancement in health sciences, and big data to transform the efficiency and accessibility of healthcare delivery. He is passionate in bringing digital health innovation to the market to allow clinicians more time with patients, patients less time in the queue, and executives more confidence in decision-making. JP combines process engineering, data analytics, and health system expertise to build sustainable healthcare solutions. JP received his technical training in Process Engineering at the University of Toronto and his entrepreneurship spirit from the MBA degree at Ivey Business School (University of Western Ontario).
Chief Medical Imaging Officer
Dr. Mariam Ghali Eskander
Mariam is a Canadian-trained and board-certified radiologist across North America with advanced fellowship training in her field. In addition to her clinical practice, she has been working with regulators and organizations to improve the quality of healthcare delivery. She is a primary investigator for physicians’ reporting quality and has accessed the quality of over 40 different radiology practices in Ontario and British Columbia. She has several years of experience working at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) as provincial lead for the Diagnostic Imaging practice assessment program, quality assurance committee member, and assessor. She has worked in more than ten radiology practices ranging from small Independent Health Facilities (IHFs) to large multisite community hospitals.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Michael Zywiel
Michael is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. As part of the interdisciplinary Hip and Knee Assessment Clinic at the Toronto Western Hospital, Dr. Zywiel is committed to helping patients and referring providers obtain a timely assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of arthritis-related hip and knee pain.
His passion for extending his expertise to support more patients is to drive system changes in delivering Value-Based health. Before joining KCI and completing his orthopedic residency, he returned to the United States as the inaugural Miles Abell Fellow in Arthroplasty and Value-Based Health Care Delivery at Dell Medical School, University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Zywiel has a full-time appointment as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. In addition, he has a faculty appointment at the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.

Tina Capotorto
Tina is a dynamic leader with high empathy that connects easily with people. She embraces the challenge of orchestrating complex change by fostering collaborative environments across multiple areas. Tina is at her best when creating a vision, communicating the urgency for change, and mobilizing teams and organizations to deliver results. Tina has led multi-disciplined teams across various sectors in critical roles for over 25 years. Her innate ability to mobilize individuals to unleash their talents allows her to achieve game-changing results. Tina received her Bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Waterloo and her MBA from Ivey Business School.
